MANCHESTER, NHย โ Manchester, we have a cow situationย โ and that’s no bull!
Just before 11 p.m. Manchester Police were dispatchedย to the Mall of NH for a report of two bulls on the run. The bulls turned out to be cows whichย escaped from the Giovagnoliย farm on Mammoth Road. Responding officers were able to corral the cows and keep them in relative captivity near Best Buy.
No word on who left the barn door open.
The farm belongs to the family of longtime Manchester cattle farmer Joseph Giovagnoli, who died in a tragic fire in December of 2007 at his farm house.
A family member was contacted just after 11 p.m. and was on the way from Deerfield to retrieve theย cows.
In the meantime, based on police scanner communication, officers were doing their bestย to keep the bovine pairย from roaming into traffic by using “herding” tactics, that included getting out of their patrol cars andย using verbal commands to keep them at bay.
We’ll update the story as more information becomes available.
