Manchester Police are investigating two weekend robberies, one early Saturday morning involving a robber wearing rubber gloves, and the other early Sunday involving a robber with his left arm in a sling, wearing what police are calling a “Rocky the Squirrel” style hat.

The first robbery was reported by aย clerk at the Cumberland Farms, 217 Union St., at aboutย 2:40 a.m. Sept. 13. ย The clerkย said a man between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot 11,ย wearing a black hooded jacket, a black piece of clothing covering his face, black pants, black shoes (with white soles) and clear rubber gloves walked into the store and demanded cash. He may have been white, but the clerk was not sure due to the clothing covering his face.

The robberย retrieved a โ€œbig blackโ€ handgun from the left side of his waistband, with his left hand and told the clerk to hurry. The clerk complied and gave him an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The robberย also demanded a carton of cigarettes, valued at $63.09 prior to fleeing the store.ย  It is unknown if the suspect fled on foot or in a vehicle.

The second robbery was reported early Sept. 14ย at 3:44 a.m., at the CVS located at 271 Mammoth Road. ย The clerk reported a robber enteredย the store and demanded oxycodone pills.

Perhaps the most notable description was the medical sling holding his left arm. Although no weapon was seen, the robberย claimed to have been armed with a handgun.

He got away with an undisclosed amount of oxycodone pills, police said.
