Dion Matthew – Reward Fow Poster Updated 30sept2014 by Carol Robidoux
MANCHESTER NH – A New Hampshire man suspected of killing his parents and setting their house on fire is believed to be in the Atlanta area, a Manchester NH police detective said Wednesday.
The detective would not elaborate on why he believed Matthew Dion, 38, could be in the metropolitan area of the Georgia city.
Manchester Detective Sgt. Joe Mucci said Wednesday that Dion may be driving a silver 2013 Hyundai Elantra he stole in Florida the first week in September.
Dion may be armed with a .38 caliber handgun, which Mucci said he stole from a Florida home at about the same time he stole the car.
Dion is white, 5 feet 10 inches tall. He is believed to be clean shaven or sporting a 5 ‘clock shadow, and he has a horizontal scar in the center of his forehead.
“He’s a very tech savvy, computer person,” Mucci said. “He’s very intelligent. He could do whatever he sets his mind to at this point.”
New Hampshire investigators have been looking for Dion since the bodies of his parents, Robert Dion, 71, and Constance Dion, 67, were found strangled with a wire after an explosion and fire March 24 at the Manchester home they shared with him. Dion is charged with second-degree murder, arson and three counts of possession of child pornography.
Mucci told The Associated Press that Dion frequents Dunkin’ Donuts shops and smokes Camel cigarettes, which he only smokes halfway before putting them out. The car Dion is believed to have stolen bore the Florida tag G673WH.
There is a $10,000 reward for information leading to his apprehension.
Tips about Matthew Dion’s whereabouts can be reported to the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force at 603-225-1632 or by calling 1-877-WANTED-2.
