Royals almost shutout Monarchs

READING, Pa. – The Manchester Monarchs shutout the Reading Royals on Saturday and the Royals returned the favor on Sunday, defeating Manchester, 6-1.

Only Spencer Watson’s second period goal prevented a perfect day in net for Reading goaltender Callum Booth. Booth ended the day with 33 saves, and he received plenty of offensive support from his teammates.

Frank DiChiara and Brayden Low contributed power play goals for Reading while the Royals also obtained goals from Joe Houk, Adam Schmidt, Jack Riley and Tyson Fawcett.

The Monarchs return to action Friday, February 8 at 7 p.m., when they take on the Wheeling Nailers at SNHU Arena.
