The state rolled out a new accessible voting system and other resources to assist election officials with voter registration during March town elections.
CONCORD, NH โ ย Secretary of State David Scanlan on Wednesday commended the state’s local election officials for successfully utilizing the stateโs new accessible voting system โ OmniBallot โ during March town elections. Local election officials worked hard to receive, set up, and deploy the new system, and their work helped fulfill the constitutional promise that elections be accessible to ALL qualified voters.
“In New Hampshire, we consistently administer secure and accessible elections thanks to the availability of state resources and continued collaboration between local and state election officials. We are grateful to our local election officials for successfully implementing several new systems on election day to ensure all qualified voters could exercise their right to vote,” Scanlan said.
The March 10 elections were also the first to utilize the stateโs new inquiry feature in the Statewide Voter System (SVRS) to assist voters in providing proof of citizenship, age, domicile and identity following the passage of HB 464.
Since August 2025, the Secretary of Stateโs Office has worked with the Vital Records Division and the Division of Motor Vehicles to exchange information that election officials can use within SVRS to help a voter prove their qualifications when registering to vote. Individuals who do not have proof of their qualifications or documentation of a name change when registering to vote can use this feature by presenting an โApplication for Confidential Verificationโ to election officials.
The Secretary of Stateโs Office is aware of at least 250 instances in which election officials used the inquiry feature to assist a person registering to vote during March town elections.
