If all the world’s a stage, then comedian Colin Mochrie’s the guy doing sight gags and sound effects, pulling one-liners from his imagination like a magician’s sting of endless handkerchiefs and savoring every improvisational moment.
“Fight Club” author Chuck Palahniuk will bring the fun and flying candy bars to The Music Hall on Sept. 12. He’d love for you to join him.
Also, as usual, there will be live music, food, and plenty of delicious beer produced by creative craftsmen and women performing at the highest level. Attending this single event will allow you to taste a wide variety of beers and styles from all over the region that otherwise would require hours of driving or even day trips. Kicking off Symphony NH’s 2023-24 Season on Sept. 23 is East Meets West, Vol. II, a fusion of Eastern and Western music featuring Grammy-winning tabla player Sandeep Das, member of Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble, who joins SNH and Maestro Roger Kalia in the SNH and New Hampshire premiere of Dinuk Wijeratne’s Concerto for Tabla and Orchestra.

This year’s festival, a week-long series of arts and music events from Sept. 11-17 including dance and art classes, and improv, at loctions around the city, will again culminate in an open-air street fair where artists and artisans will be set up to show their work and sell their wares. There will also be live performances and a chance to connect directly with many local artists and performers.
There were more than 1,000 classic cars, trucks, motorcycles and even a trio of DeLorean time machines as car enthusiasts spanned out across several city blocks between Lake Avenue and Bridge Street to take in the sights.

But a treasure hunter with a good eye picked up a painting in 2017 for $4, stacked with other unwanted items at the Manchester Savers on South Willow Street. She was searching for frames to reuse, something many thrifters do to salvage or repurpose castaway art. The signature on the painting read N.C. Wyeth – for Newell Convers Wyeth, patriarch of the famed Wyeth family of painters.
