MANCHESTER, NH – The Boys & Girls Club of Manchester (BGCM) is pleased to announce the opening of a “Zen Den” at Camp Foster for members to find a calm, safe, sensory-friendly space for campers to decompress, reflect, and develop self-care skills at Camp. The Zen Den provides therapeutic groups and is home to counseling programs, which are done in partnership with BGCM and Greater Manchester Mental Health.
BGCM recognizes the importance of providing targeted mental health support and has taken steps to meet this growing need by taking a trauma-informed approach to its programming. At Camp Foster, the Zen Den was created as a therapeutic space where members can navigate the daily challenges that may arise.
“We provide our campers with the tools to help them cope with everyday challenges. We strive every day to build and strengthen relationships with our generous partners like BankProv to promote the benefits of mental health & wellness for the youth we serve,” said Diane Fitzpatrick, CEO for BGCM.
“When we heard about the Zen Den project, we knew we needed to support its tremendous purpose,” said Carol Houle, Co-CEO for BankProv. “We are proud to play a role in the health and wellbeing of Manchester area kids that need it the most.”
Through the summer mental health program, BGCM can ensure that children have access to the resources they need to promote lifelong mental health. Thanks to support from BankProv, the organization can make a sustainable difference in the lives of hundreds of Manchester youth, now and for years to come.
