MANCHESTER, NH โย Manchester Choral Society (MCS) announces its 65th season and invites vocalists to attend an “open sing” event and subsequent auditions.ย The open sing will take place September 8, 2025, at Grace Episcopal Church (106 Lowell Street, Manchester, NH) from 7 โ 9 p.m. Auditions will be held September 8-9 in the same location. To register for an audition, please visitย mcsnh.org.
MCS is eager to welcome new voices and give aspiring singers the opportunity to experience the joy of singing in a supportive and inspiring environment under the direction of Dan Perkins, who is celebrating his 20th season with the ensemble.
For our December concert, we will be performing Duke Ellingtonโs โSacred Concertโ with Big Band. Spirituality was always important in Duke Ellington’s music and this work created a fusion of the swinging rhythms of jazz and European church music beyond black gospel music that was unique at the time. The concert will also feature a selection of holiday pops favorites.
Our Spring concert will be a collaboration with Portsmouth, NHโs Chorus Pro Musica. The groups will perform Franz Schubertโs “Mass in E-Flat Major” and Felix Mendelssohnโs โPsalm 42.” The choirs will be accompanied by full orchestra and professional soloists.
Join us in creating beautiful music and being a part of the rich choral tradition that defines the Manchester Choral Society. Let your voice be heard and experience the magic of Season 65!
