Soon to be the new home of the Golden Bowl, which is moving from Queen City Avenue to Lake Avenue in early May.

Editor’s note: On June 1 the restaurant owner told Manchester Ink Link the opening was about 2-3 weeks out, due to some unforeseen circumstances. But the sign has been placed. Stay tuned.

MANCHESTER, NHย (April 11 ,2015) โ€“ Look for a long-time Queen City Avenue Asian cuisine restaurant to make a move to the heart of downtown in early May when the recently shuttered Golden Bowl resurfaces on Lake Avenue.

The restaurant, which closed abruptlyย in Februaryย at its Queen City Avenue location, will reopen under the same name with the same basic menu at 12 Lake Ave. in early May, according to owner Chan Loi.

Golden Bowl has been a staple on Queen City Avenue for about 10ย yearsย and is known for its fresh,ย authentic Vietnamese/Chinese cuisine, including its oversized “golden bowl” selection of pho noodle soups.

Traditional pho soup selection will be back at Golden Bowl.

The new location, next to Indian Head Athletics, will offer limitedย in-restaurant seating and no wait staff, utilizing theย more traditional model of Chinese take-out.

That location has previously been home to a series of pizza restaurants, including Awesome Pizza. While it doesn’t offer its own on-street parking, it is just a short walk from a metered city lot, and there is on-street parking around the corner on Elm Street and Central Street.
