MANCHESTER, NH โ Thank you to Bill, one of our loyal Ink Link readers, for the heads up on this local shopping tip – and cool story.
Sowing Seeds for Hope is a NH-based initiative that helps Afghan women who are transforming and rebuilding their lives as they use their sewing skills to earn some income.
Sewing Seeds for Hope is a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) organization helping these women achieve self-sufficiency. These women come from vastly different backgrounds yet share a strong desire to see their families, especially their children, succeed in their new home.
โIn addition to learning a new language and culture, the women are developing strong business and leadership skills by using their talents to create and sell a variety of beautiful handmade products, including pillows, cosmetic bags, and aprons, to name just a few.
โAlthough most of their holiday shopping events have passed, they operate year round. You can find some of their wares locally at Green Envy, 377 Elm St. Unit 1, Manchester, NH.
All sales proceeds go directly to the artisans. โDonations are always gratefully accepted!
