MANCHESTER, N.H. – Spirit Airlines flights heading out of Manchester-Boston Regional Airport (MHT) will no longer be available after May 8, with the change being described as a pause in operations.
MHT Director of Aviation Theodore Kitchens stated that the decision was made by Spirit due to ongoing engine troubles in their fleet, as well as industry-wide problems such as the lack of qualified pilots and softening domestic air travel demand.
” We understand that difficult decisions like this have to be made and we look forward to seeing Spirit back at the Airport this winter,” said Kitchens. “When that occurs, I know the Manchester community will stand up in even larger numbers in welcoming them back to the Granite State.”
The move marks the tenth removal of Spirit flights from a specific airport in the last year, following the stoppage of Spirit flights to and from Aguadilla and Mercedita (Puerto Rico), Lima (Peru), Los Cabos (Mexico), Monterrey, Yeager – Charleston, Bucaramanga (Colombia), and Puerto Vallarta (Mexico).
