Substance abuse and addiction in the city: A blueprint for action and recovery

May 13 community meeting to create a blueprint for action in the battle against substance misuse and lack of treatment

Hope for NH Recovery logoMANCHESTER, NH โ€“ The Manchester Health Department, along with the Makinโ€™ It Happen Regional Substance Misuse Network, are holding a community meeting May 13 from 9-11 a.m. to address theย epidemic of substance misuse disorders which are plaguing our communities.

Together, with Hope for NH Recovery, a coalition of community organizationsย are currently embarking on the creation of a blueprint for action based on a comprehensive approach to environmental strategies, prevention, intervention, treatment, and recovery from substance use disorders in the Greater Manchester Region.

In order to do that, publicย input and participation is needed.

Opening remarks will be given by Tym Rourke, chairman of the Governorโ€™s Commission on Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention, Intervention and Treatment. Experts along the full Continuum of Care will also be present to discuss current trends and real time data to provideย full understanding of the substance use tragedy in our region. The remainder of the meeting will be a topic discussion with those in attendance, on ways we can create change, save lives and become a healthier Greater Manchester Region.
