SWAT team bust nets 2 arrests for alleged heroin, cocaine sales

Two men were arrested Sept. 17 following a lengthy investigation into the sale of cocaine and heroin in the city.

Hernan Rijos-Calderon, 26, and William Rivera-Calderon, 35, both of Manchester, were taken into custody after the Police Special Enforcement Division and multiple members of the Manchester Police SWAT Team executed a search warrant at 125 South Mammoth Road.

Rijos-Calderonย andย Rivera-Calderonย both face charges for theirย alleged involvement with selling cocaine and heroin at various locations within the City of Manchester.

The SWAT team set-up outside of the location early yesterday morning to wait for the two menย to exit the residence. After several hours, the SWAT team moved in and made contact with multiple people inside the home,ย including Rivera-Calderon, who was arrested at the residence.ย  Rijos-Calderon was arrestedย a short time later at Don Quioteโ€™s Restaurant, located on Union Street. Both wereย arrested without incident.

Rijos-Calderon was charged with threeย counts sale of a controlled drug (heroin) and two counts of possession with intent to distribute (heroin and cocaine). Rijos-Calderon was held on $50,000 cash/surety. Rivera-Calderon was charged with threeย counts sale of a controlled drug (heroin) and one count of possession with intent to distribute (cocaine). Rivera-Calderon was held on $25,000 cash/surety. Both will be arraigned Sept. 18 at the 9th Circuit Court of Manchester.

The investigation led to the seizure of a 2006 Chrysler automobile, $2,432 in cash,ย ย 8.4 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $600 and 15.5 grams of heroin with an estimated street value of $1,000.
