MANCHESTER, NH – Contract negotiations resumed over the weekend for a few hours Saturday, resulting in some progress, according to the Manchester Education Association.

MEA members met on Nov. 3 with the Board of School Committee contract negotiation team for a four-hour session. According to MEA president Sue Hannan, talks went from noon to 4 p.m., during which negotiators went through proposals on both sides.
“Yes, they did bring their compensation package forward that included salary, sick/personal time and benefits, and now we have to take time to fully digest the many pages of numbers presented to us.” Hannan said in a statement released Saturday. “We brought forward proposals that solidified worker rights and conditions, as well as our open proposals on safety, class size, joint committees, leave days, and compensation. We have another three dates set up to continue our discussions and come to agreements.”
