MANCHESTER, NH โย Oral histories are important because they preserve personal experiences, highlight diverse perspectives, and help us better understand the past through the voices of people who lived it.
As part of the Manchester Age-Friendly Initiative Free Bus Route Kick-Off, the Manchester City Archives at City Hall and the NH Council on Developmental Disabilities will co-host an opportunity for older Manchester residents to participate in the cityโs oral history project.
We will be part of the celebration at Livingston Park on Monday, June 22, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., ready to record your stories about growing up, working, traveling, gathering, and living in Manchester.
These recordings will help the City Hall Archives preserve Manchesterโs living history, adding personal voices and memories to the official records, photographs, documents, and collections that tell the story of our city.
We want to hear about your past and present experiences in our diverse, ever-evolving, historic city. And if you think you do not have anything to say, do not worry. We will have friendly prompts and questions to help you get started.
Grab a friend and come tell us some stories.
