The Soapbox: Pappas is fighting for veterans while Trump, Sununu fail them

THE SOAPBOX

Stand up. Speak up. It’s your turn.

Donald Trump, John Sununu, and the rest of the MAGA cohort claim to care about veterans, but their actions say otherwise.

Last year, the Trump Administration killed a VA home loan program, which has helped about 20,000 veterans avoid foreclosure and keep their homes.

This is unacceptable. This is cruel. But this is not hopeless โ€” Congressman Chris Pappas is fighting back.

Chris has always been in our veteransโ€™ corner, and now heโ€™s calling on the VA to immediately establish a foreclosure moratorium to ensure that no more veterans and their families lose their homes.

Chris knows that the men and women who have served our country โ€” and their families who have sacrificed alongside them โ€” should never have to worry about homelessness.

New Hampshire, we need to send a leader to the United States Senate who has been and always will be a fighter for our veterans and their families. Thatโ€™s Chris Pappas.

We donโ€™t need to send a corporate sellout who will rubber-stamp Trumpโ€™s agenda, even if it means throwing our veterans out on the streets. Thatโ€™s John Sununu.

The Trump administration only talks about supporting our veterans. When in fact, they essentially do little or nothing. Iโ€™m of the opinion that another GOP administration and supporting House and Senate will also do nothing.

So Iโ€™ll be voting to make Chris Pappas our next Senator this November โ€” and if you care about supporting our veterans, military families, and men and women in uniform, you should, too.

Paul Federico is a Veteran and a U.S. Army Reservist. He lives in Bedford.
