Lowell Carnival, Regatta Field, Lowell, MA โ The carnival is coming to Lowell – Regatta Field May 21 through May 31. The carnival will be held at Regatta Field, Pawtucket Blvd, Lowell, MA 01854. The carnival will feature rides, games and food. 2026 Historic Preservation Awards, Manchester Community College, Manchester, NH โ The Historic Preservation Awards program recognizes and supports the efforts of individuals, businesses and organizations who have made significant contributions to the preservation of buildings, neighborhoods, traditions and other historic resources in the Queen City. For over 30 years, more than 250 recipients have been recognized for a wide variety of preservation efforts in 40 different categories. The annual event has become the MHAโs largest fundraiser to support its non-profit mission of collecting, preserving and sharing the history of Manchester. May Group Hike, Spear Park Trails, Concord, NH โ WHEN: Saturday, May 23, 10 am. WHERE: Spears Park Trail (Map 7 at concordnh.gov/trails). The parking area is next to 46 Sanborn Road for directions. WHAT: Join Bob for a group hike along the Spears Park Trails. The hike will include the outer blue loop and parts of the orange and red trails. It will also include the adjacent Richardโs Community Forest loop trail. Plan for about 90 minutes and two miles; easy terrain and mostly flat. Ona Judge Mural Unveiling, BHTNH Headquarters, Portsmouth, NH โ In 2023, the Black Heritage Trail of New Hampshire unveiled plans to paint a mural of Ona Marie Judge Staines on its Portsmouth, New Hampshire, headquarters. As part of a local History Through Art initiative, the Black Heritage Trail will honor Staines, who bravely escaped the bonds of slavery in the late 1700s. While not yet a household name, Stainesโ story is one of courage and self-determination that historians are working to share with the public. Join us immediately after the unveiling for a reception to meet Dunbar & mural artist Manny Ramirez, as we honor a woman whose bravery still echoes today. Rubber Duck Regatta, Nashua Riverwalk, Nashua, NH โ Downtown Nashua is preparing for a high-energy holiday weekend as the Rubber Duck Regatta and the Nashua Farmers Market join the citywide Renaissance on the Riverwalk celebration. Hosted by the Downtown Nashua Association (DNA), these events offer residents a chance to win big while supporting the free community programs that define the cityโs culture. On Saturday, May 23 at 3 pm, 5,000 rubber ducks will be launched by the footbridge between the Clocktower and Cotton Mill Apartments. This beloved community tradition, previously hosted by Nashua Rotary West, finds a new home with DNA this year.
