MANCHESTER, NH โ It’s gratifying that this week’s top story is a feel-good story, brought to you by the Manchester School District. Normally it’s the chaos that gets people clicking.
But a story about West High School senior Desmond Powell, 17, was the most popular story of the week, and here’s why: Desmond was honored last week by the city for a random encounter he had that turned into a good deed of the highest order โ one that may have made the difference between life and death for a distraught man.
Also among the Top 25 stories this week (based on clicks): How this unseasonably warm December may have repercussions, beyond delaying ski season; a peaceful interfaith demonstration in support of Manchester’s Muslim community; and a few stories about panhandlers, to name a few.
