MANCHESTER, NH โย On August 16, 2025 from 12-4 p.m., this coterie of creatives will welcome the city to join them at their pop up gallery and mural unveiling; an exhibition dubbed “Thoughts Projected” within Sheehan-Basquil Park. The unique mural team led by Positive Street Art and MYTURNโs Outreach Department is composed of youth and adults from partner organizations; Opportunity Networks, PLUS Company and Waypoint. These organizations provide wrap-around services for youth and adults from vulnerable populations; individuals who, traditionally, do not have access to arts enrichment opportunities.
A tightly woven and ragtag team of Manchesterโs most unsung students, protรฉgรฉs, apprentices and artists have tasked themselves this balmy summer with the resurrection and revitalization of a Center City park once forgotten by the general public called Sheehan-Basquil.ย
The site will host a mural unveiling as well as a pop-up gallery. The art relics on display at the pop up gallery will include documentation and drafting processes involved in the cohortโs efforts to create a beautification project symbolizing an aspirational visionโa future without limitations from the burdens of life and the world around us.
The pop-up gallery will be placed outdoors in order to embrace the summer, enhance accessibility, and enjoy the Sheehan-Basquilโs green space. Interns conceived and executed ephemeral gallery walls and yarn based installation components. The team hopes the display will welcome and draw the public to spend time appreciating, and maybe even buying participant art. The pop-up gallery will then be installed at the Greater Manchester Chamber after August 16th to be on view for a few months post internship.ย
Sheehan-Basquil Park is the hotspot for Manchester Central Little League, and occasionally hosts other events and activities such as multicultural festivals and Ward 5 candidate for alderman Jason Bonillaโs campaign launch party. The Mural Unveiling on August 16th will also feature entertainment and live performances alongside snacks and freeze pops!
ย โWe would love to have everyone come,โ said MYTURN student and member of the internshipย Yaranielle Pech,.โIt will be so fun to look at all the amazing art we made.โ The celebration and mural unveiling will occur in Center Cityโs Sheehan-Basquil Park on August 16, 2025 from 11 to 4 p.m., free of charge!
We want to wholeheartedly thank all of our sponsors for their dedication and investment in programming which makes a difference here in New Hampshire and provides for youth and young adults who may not have access to such incredible mural making opportunities.
