MERRIMACK, NH โ€” The New Hampshire State Police is seeking the publicโ€™s assistance in locating a vehicle that struck a New Hampshire Trooper on a traffic stop early Sundayย morning while heading southbound on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in Merrimack.

Atย approximately 2:30 a.m., a New Hampshire Trooper was conducting a traffic stop southbound on the F.E. Everett Turnpike in the immediate area of Exit 10. While nextย to his cruiser he was struck by a vehicle traveling southbound. Both the Trooper and a portion of the cruisers driverโ€™s side door were hit by the vehicle. The Trooper was transported to a local area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The vehicle is believed to be a light-colored, 2002-2005 Chevrolet
Trailblazer with damage to the passenger side mirror and front passenger window.

The Troopers identity is not being released at this time. The State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is on scene on the turnpike and handling the initial investigation. The F.E. Everett Turnpike is limited to one southbound at this time in the area of the incident.
