How Dry I Am


The last week of August started with hit or miss showers and thundershowers, but they won’t be enough to alleviate the ongoing drought. Drought conditions are expected to continue through the Labor Day weekend. Fire danger will remain high, with a stray shower possible on Wednesday and a few spotty showers on Friday.

Take a Hike: Summits above 4,000 feet: Summits alternating between clear and cloudy. Temperatures reaching the mid-50s, dropping to the upper 40s at elevations above 5000 feet. West winds blowing at 15 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 50 mph. Elevations between 2,500 and 4,000 feet: Mostly cloudy skies with highs reaching the upper 50s. West winds blowing at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 35 mph. 

Hit the Beach Hampton & Rye Beach Weather: The weather is sunny with no thunderstorm potential. High temperatures will be in the mid-70s, with west winds around 10 mph. Surf height is about 3 feet, and the rip current risk is low. Ocean temperature is 64 degrees. At Hampton Beach, tides are low at 0.2 feet (MLLW) at 8:19 AM and high at 8.7 feet (MLLW) at 2:14 PM EDT.

Weirs Beach: West winds at about 10 mph with gusts reaching up to 25 mph. Waves around 2 feet. Sunny skies with highs in the lower 70s. Water temperature at 72 degrees.
