MANCHESTER, N.H. – Take two friends with a dream, an empty building looking to be used, several hundred new apartments coming online soon nearby in addition to hundreds of existing apartments and dozens of existing businesses and add in a whole bunch of equipment that can help people with their laundry needs. Put it all together and you get Central Suds, Manchester’s newest laundromat.

Located at the corner of Central and Chestnut streets, the new downtown laundromat offers numerous washing machines and dryers in different sizes along with WiFi and a lounge for local residents looking to wash their own clothes in a comfortable atmosphere as well as delivery services, commercial-focused services, 48-hour drop-off capability and a partnership with E&R for dry cleaning.

Central Suds co-owners and long-time friends Tina Moulis and Jordan Tsiaras were looking to establish a new business in the building, which had been home to the Nixon Law Firm for approximately 60 years until Tsiaras’ family purchased the building next door and this building as well.

The duo was considering a variety of options for the space ranging from a sports bar to a spa to golf simulators, but their love for the idea of opening a laundromat and a conference on the laundromat industry convinced them that it was worth the effort to create Central Suds.

Tsiaras and Moulis believe that the 13 parking spots on their property as well as attempts at creating a comfortable atmosphere will create a loyal following for the growing downtown population.

“We are clean, well lit, and safe. We’re fully attended. We have a kids’ room, so if you do have to bring your children, they have a safe space to play while you are taking care of the laundry,” said Moulis.

The new business recently celebrated its establishment in a ceremony spearheaded by the Manchester Economic Development Office. During the ceremony, Manchester Mayor Jay Ruais praised Tsiaras and Moulis for adding this new business to the city.

“The story about how you made the decision that you wanted to take a chance is such a beautiful story and we are so proud to have played a role on the city side,” said Ruais to Moulis and Tsiaras.
