Driver and passenger of stolen car injured in Second Street crash

MANCHESTER, NH — Two people were injured in a crash on Second Street involving a stolen vehicle out of Bedford.

According to Manchester Police at 2:15 p.m. on Jan. 21ย ย a Bedford officer was pursuing a 2006 Honda Accord reportedย stolen out of Bedford, and followed the vehicle from River Road in Bedford into Manchester,ย headingย north on Second Street, past Harvell Street, at a high rate of speed. At that point the operator of the stolen vehicle crashed into a pick-up truck, which was exiting the highway (from Exit 4).

The driver of the truck was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The operator of the stolen Honda, identified as, Paul Frascona, 46, of Manchester, ultimately lost control and crashed on Second Street, south of Queen City Avenue.

Frascona was arrested by the Bedford Police Department on charges of receiving stolen property (a felony) and disobeying an officer (felony). The passenger of the stolen Honda was not charged.ย 

Multiple Manchester police officers arrived to assist in the crash investigation and the apprehension of the operator and passenger of the stolen car. The two were taken to an area hospital and treated for seriousย injuries.ย 

The accident causedย major traffic delays and road closures. Second Street, from Harvell Street to Queen City Avenue was closed to all traffic for several hours following the crash.ย The Queen City Bridge remained openย to east and westbound traffic.
