Update: Hooksett rest stop robbery suspect nabbed in stolen van after 30-mile chase

CONCORD, NH โ€” NH State police have arrested a juvenile in connection with an early-morning robbery Saturday at the Hooksett Tolls rest stop.

On January 30ย at aboutย 12:12 a.m., an armed robbery occurred at the Common Manย General Store located at the southbound rest area off I-93 in Hooksett. A white male believed to beย in his late teens to early 20sย brandished a handgun and demanded cash. After the robbery, theย robberย walked out of the store and fled on foot.

image1New Hampshire State Police, assisted by the Bow Police Department, continued investigating theย incident throughout the day positively identifying the suspect as a 17- year-old male. Heย was ultimately entered into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) as a missing juvenile byย the Bow Police Department.

At approximately 11:45 a.m., New Hampshire State Police Troop-F was requested to respond towards the northern Vermont/New Hampshire border. Troopers were advised that Vermont Stateย Police Troopers were involved in an active pursuit northbound Interstate 91 heading towards St.ย Johnsbury, VT, with a Ryder Rental Van registered in New Hampshire. After a 30-mile pursuit, Vermont State Police Troopers were able to take the driver into custodyย without injury after he lost control of the van.

Further investigation revealed the van was stolen from a business in Bow earlier in the day.ย Anyone with information is urged toย contact Trooper Megan Walsh at 603-271-1162.
