
MANCHESTER, N.H. – Christian Urrutia, a candidate for the Democratic nomination in New Hampshire’s First Congressional District, is holding a discussion on the life and death of Victor Jara in the Winchell Room of the Manchester City Library from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 11th.
Victor Jara was a Chilean folk singer and political activist that was tortured and murdered by the Pinochet regime in 1973, One of the men responsible for Jara’s murder, Pedro Barrientos Nuรฑez, was sentenced to repay the family of Jara an amount of $28 million thanks in part to the efforts of Urrutia.
