MANCHESTER, NHย โ€” Manchester VA volunteer Jerry LaChance, 70, a Vietnam veteran and retired Sandown firefighter, will be cycling past Manchester VA on May 17.

ย LaChance has been on a mission, riding since April 9 to raiseย $11,000 for Project Hero โ€” he began his trek in Florida and is heading to Pittsburg, along the Canadian border. He’s on the last leg of his journey, and will be riding through Manchester at about 9 a.m.
Manchester Fire Department is providing Jerry an escort, and the VA’s Community Living Center residents, staff and guests will line the Seacoast Entrance to cheer him on.ย
If you’d like to be part of the welcome committee, just stop by the Manchester VA Medical Centerย May 17ย at 9 a.m. He’s due to complete his ride on May 20.
You can alsoย send a note of support to LaChance viaย Facebook โ€” Jerryโ€™s Ride, and let him know how much you appreciate his advocacy for his wounded and disabled brothers and sisters.
Or better yet, you can donate to help him reach his goal of $25,000 for Project Hero, which supports disabled veterans. He’s only about halfway to his goal and could use a boost. Click here to learn more and to donate.
