PORTLAND, Maine – New Hampshire Fisher Cats center fielder Forrest Wall had a week to remember, and in turn became the Eastern League Player of the Week for the period of May 27 – June 2.

During that period, the 23-year-old went 16-for-28 (.571) with six doubles, two home runs, six RBI, and ten runs scored. That output was enough to give him the league lead in batting average, hits, on-base percentage (.636) and OPS (1.636) during that time frame.

The native of Winter Park, Florida enters Monday on a 14-game hitting streak. That stands as the longest current hitting streak in the league, second overall only to the 15-game streak held by Binghamton’s Patrick Mazeika from April 27 to May 16.

Thanks to this week’s efforts, Wall is now just one hit behind league leader Colton Welker of Hartford (59), and stands tied for sixth in bases on balls (28). He also is fourth in batting average at .312, trailing only C.J. Chatham of Portland (.314) and Trenton’s Chris Gittens (.317) and Hoy Jun Park (.329).

Since joining the Fisher Cats last year in a trade from the Colorado Rockies organization, Wall has appeared in 85 games for the Fisher Cats, going 93-for-315 (.298), with 45 runs scored, four home runs and 31 RBI.

His two-run extra-inning single also provided New Hampshire with a Game 1 victory in last year’s Eastern League Championship Series against Akron.
