MANCHESTER, N.H. – The Manchester Monarchs notched their second win in as many days against the Maine Mariners, dropping a 6-3 home victory on Saturday night.

Manchester’s Sam Kurker started things off with a goal just before the first intermission, answering Jason Salvaggio’s goal near the middle of the second period with another goal to give the Monarchs back the lead.

Morgan Adams-Moisan ripped a wrister past the glove of Charles Williams to erase that lead, but a third period that included a goal from Jack Nevins and a hat trick from Shane Watson put Manchester ahead for good.

Maine’s Greg Chase added his eighth goal of the year with just two minutes left in regulation to finish the score sheet.

Coming into Saturday’s contest, Manchester notched just six power play goals at home all season. On Saturday night alone they got three, two of which came from Watson.

With the win, Manchester now has 44 points on the year, good for fourth place in the ECHL North Division.

Outside of Newfoundland’s continuing lock on the division’s top spot, the other three North Division playoff berths remain up for grabs, with second through seventh-places divided by just six points.

The Monarchs return to action Sunday, January 27th at 3 p.m., when they take on the Worcester Railers at SNHU Arena.
