LONDON – Apparently Queen City residents traveling elsewhere in the U.S. might be a bit surprised at how much cheaper Taco Bell is elsewhere in the country according to a recent study.
According to a recent study by the website Pantry and Larder, New Hampshire and Maine are tied for the most expensive Taco Bell food in the nation, as gauged by prices of Three Crunchy Taco Combo meals. The average in these two states is $8.54, while the cheapest was in North Dakota at $6.49 and the national average was $6.99.
The study, originally designed as a lighthearted side project according to Pantry and Larder spokesperson Veronica Fletcher, also looked at seven other items and guacamole prices at Taco Bells across the country as of June 5.
Fletcher believes one of the main reasons why New Hampshire’s prices are so high is a lack of price diversity among its Taco Bell locations.
“You’ll pay the same price for a Crunchy Taco Combo whether you’re in Manchester, Concord, or Lebanon,” she said. “Compare this to a state like New Jersey, where prices vary by up to $6.40, which means there are many bargains to be had.”
A full list of the prices, including Manchester’s two Taco Bell locations, can be found in map-form at Pantry and Larder’s sister site, Taconomical.
