WalletHub: NH ranks among Top 10 for great states for seniors

NH ranks among the Top 10 best places for seniors to live according to WalletHub.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Last week, WalletHub named New Hampshire as the tenth best state to retire in the country.

In its study, New Hampshire also finished first in “quality of life,” which WalletHub analyst Julia Gonalez says this came in part to healthcare access, high air quality, low crime rate and a lack of state-level estate or inheritance taxes among other factors.

New Hampshire has a large existing community of residents aged 65+, which reduces the risk of social isolation for seniors. The labor market is elderly-friendly, there is a very low percentage of elderly population living in poverty — less than 6 percent,” said Gonzalez.

A full version of the study can be seen at the WalletHub website.
