At last, the much-needed rain is on its way.

Heavy rain is expected to hit New Hampshire from Thursday afternoon into late Thursday night, bringing 1 inch of much-needed precipitation. Be cautious as fallen leaves combined with rainfall can create slick roads and block storm drains, potentially causing ponding on roadways.


Today: Partly to mostly cloudy & cool. High 54 Winds: NE 10-15 mph \

Tonight: Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy and breezy. Low 41 (feel like 31) Winds: N 15-20 mph

Thursday: Cloudy and windy with occasional afternoon showers (0.25″); fallen leaves combined with rainfall may cause slick roads and clogged storm drains. High 53 (feel like 43) Winds: ENE 15-20+ mph

Thursday night: Periods of rain (1 inch) some heavy; there can be ponding on roadways. Low 51 (feel like 46) Winds: NE 5-15+ mph

Temperatures will reach highs in the lower 40s, except for mid 30s at elevations above 5,000 feet. East winds will blow at 10 to 15 mph, with gusts reaching up to 30 mph.

Elevations between 2,500 and 4,000 feet in Northern New Hampshire today: Summits will remain obscured. Temperatures will reach highs in the mid-40s. East winds around 10 mph in the morning will become light and variable later, with gusts up to 25 mph.
