THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 12th
TUSK / Capitol Center (Concord) / 7:30pm โ DIRECT/x
Tusk has been criss-crossing the country since 2008 as The Classic Fleetwood Mac Tribute. The relationship among the five founding members of Tusk has a rich history that goes back more than four decades. Two met while playing Little League baseball, while two others met in middle school band and marched in lockstep through high school. All five have been playing music with one another over the years in various configurations of original bands, jam bands, singer-songwriter circles, and alternative rock groups. Time, trust, and close friendship have cultivated an intimate familiarity with each otherโs musical nuances, shaping each performance with such precision that even the slightest variation, virtually imperceptible to all but the five musicians sharing the stage, is met with a wink and a nod (and maybe, an inside joke). www.ccanh.com or (603)225-1111

STORY SONGS of the 70s / Rex Theatre (Manchester) / 7:30pm – DIRECT/x
Celebrating the music of: Cat Stevens, Gordon Lightfoot and Harry Chapin
If You Could Read My Mind, youโd hear Cats in the Cradle climb aboard the Peace Train for a night of unforgettable storytelling. Tom DiMenna leads this thoughtful tribute to Gordon Lightfoot, Harry Chapin, and Cat Stevens, channeling the spirit of the 1970s one song at a time. Backed by his talented accompanists, he moves easily between the haunting pull of Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald, the quiet ache in Father and Son, and the soft glow of Moonshadow. Before he was singing to sold-out rooms, Tom was calling plays as the quarterback of an Italian football team while dreaming up a movie about it on the side. Years later, he trained at Second City and turned a sketch about the ghost of Telly Savalas into an off-Broadway lounge act. Eventually, he found his way back to music, settling in Maine and bringing that same sense of character and curiosity to the stage. DiMennaโs impressive vocal range and guitar style artfully channel all of these revered artists, and will surely satisfy their most die hard fans. Tom will also be backed with accompaniment to provide plenty of toe tapping for this very special evening. This is your chance to see what all the buzz is about. You may even be moved to sing along, or at least hum! The legends live on! www.rextheatre.org or (603)668-5588
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 13th
ALWAYS A BRIDESMAID / Majestic Theatre (Manchester) / February 13-15 – DIRECT/x
Hop on this marriage-go-round for a laugh-out-loud journey with these beleaguered bridesmaids as they navigate the choppy waters of love and matrimony. In this hilarious comedic romp, four friends have sworn to keep the promise they made on the night of their Senior Prom: to be in each otherโs weddings โฆ no matter what. More than thirty years later, these Southern friends-for-life are still making โthe long walkโ for each other, determined to honor that vow. Libby Ruth, the hopeful romantic with the perfect marriage, believes โ in spite of all evidence to the contrary โ that her friends can find the very same happiness. Headstrong Deedraโs โrock-solidโ union hangs by a thread when she discovers her husband of many years has not only a wandering eye but the hands to match. Monette, flashy, high-spirited and self-involved, continues to test her friendsโ love and patience with all-too-frequent trips down the aisle. And salt-of-the-earth, tree-hugging Charlie discovers โ the hard way โ that marital bliss is not the end of her rainbow and panics in outrageous style when the opportunity presents itself. If youโve ever elbowed a stranger out of the way to catch a brideโs bouquet, seriously questioned the mental stability of the duo saying โI doโ or been forced to wear the worldโs ugliest bridesmaid dress, this deliriously funny JONES HOPE WOOTEN COMEDY is definitely for you โฆ and your dearly beloved! www.majestictheatre.net or (603)669-7469

YOUNG DUBLINERS / Rex Theatre (Manchester) / 7:30pm – DIRECT/x
The Young Dubliners have begun work on their tenth studio album (with longtime producer Irish-born Tim Boland) while still maintaining their busy tour schedule. They have returned to the road post-pandemic, stronger than ever and determined to bring their fusion of Celtic and rock music to as many people as they can. The band is Keith Roberts (vocals/guitar), Chas Waltz (Violin, keys, vocals), Justin Pecot (guitar, vocals), Dave Ingraham (drums), and Ethan Jones (bass guitar). With a batch of incredible new songs and an undeniable energy, the band is excited to bring their show to festivals, theaters, and clubs around the world. โWe want to be the band who reminds the world how important a good gig can be to our sanity after what weโve all been through,โ says Roberts. For only the second time, the band is looking to its fans to finance the album instead of a traditional record company. โThe business has changed so much over our lifetime that it no longer makes sense for us to take money from a label and then owe it all back,โ adds Roberts. โMaking all our supporters co-producers is a far more rewarding way to make a record and allows us to maintain control all the wayโ. www.rextheatre.org or (603)668-5588

MARDIS GRAS in MANCHESTER with THE SOGGY POโ BOYS / Rex Theatre (Manchester) / 2:00pm – DIRECT/x
The Poโ Boys formed in 2012 to shake the walls of a local club on a Fat Tuesday but have honed their sound and become more than a Mardi Gras centerpiece. Exploring the vast musical traditions of New Orleans and expanding their repertoire to look beyond NOLA jazz, the band includes traditional Caribbean tunes (itโs been said that New Orleans is the northernmost city in the Caribbean), as well as Meters funk, soul, and brass band / street beat music. There are a myriad of traditions that flow into New Orleans culture just as there are tributaries that feed the Mississippi, and the Po Boys are eager to explore what makes the music of New Orleans so damn special. Youโll hear the heavy influence of the New Orleans sound across the band and in the stories told by their original tunes. Despite the scope of its sound, the outfit is only seven people, and thrives on the interplay and group dynamics that bring this music to life.
