Ring in St. Patrickโ€™s Day season with the legendary Irish band, and BBC lifetime achievement recipients, Dervish! At the end of 2019 Dervish received a prestigious lifetime achievement award from the BBC, a fitting tribute to the band after over 30 years of recording and performing all over the world. Described by the BBC as โ€œan icon of Irish musicโ€, the band have played at festivals from Rio de Janeiro to Glastonbury. They accompanied the Irish President on state visits to Latvia and Lithuania and Prime Minister of Ireland on a trade mission to China as Cultural Ambassadors taking time out to play an impromptu session on the Great Wall of China. Dervish have a line-up which includes some of Irelandโ€™s finest traditional musicians, fronted by one of the countryโ€™s best-known singers, Cathy Jordan. Rick Wakeman will be touring for the first time ever with his son, Oliver. Although they have occasionally performed together in the past, this will be the first opportunity to see the pair in their brand-new WAKEMAN & SON show. Both former keyboard players with YES and the Strawbs, as well as highly successful, award-winning musicians, WAKEMAN & SON will be performing music which ranges from their joint musical heritage to their latest recordings.
