Formed in 1995, Save Ferris emerged from Orange County, blending punk, rock, and ska to become a seminal third-wave ska band, driven by Monique Powell’s high-octane vocals. Their independent success, boosted by KROQ radio play of their “Come on Eileen” cover, led to a major label deal with Epic Records in 1996. The band released their debut album, It Means Everything, in 1997 and toured extensively before going on hiatus in 2003. After recovering from critical neck surgery in 2015, Powell reformed Save Ferris, honoring a promise to her father. The reformed band quickly regained momentum, playing sold-out shows and releasing the crowdfunded EP Checkered Past in 2017. They subsequently played the 2017 Warped Tour and headlined festivals worldwide.
