MANCHESTER, NH – Weather permitting, painting work is set to begin on the welcoming West Side steel arches that extend across the main thoroughfares in Rimmon Heights.
According to the Public Works Department, each arch will require from four to five days of dry weather to finish, so work will be done – including weekends – to complete the work in as short a time span as possible. As soon as one is done, crews will move on immediately to the next one until all three are completed.
The arches will be repainted black. At some point after all the painting is done, lighting will be added.
Work is scheduled to begin with the Amory Street Arch on June 7 with work expected to be completed there by June 12. Work crews will move on to the Kimble Street Arch and end with the Kelley/Coolidge Street Arch.
Traffic will be detoured and closures will be posted. Motorists will be advised to seek alternate routes. Local homeowner door notifications will not be done since all accesses to homeowners’ driveways will not be disrupted.
