BEDFORD, NH โThe month of May has been designated as National BBQ month, and to celebrate, the Wineโing Butcher and Chef Scott Ouellette have announced their search to find the best BBQ Recipes in New Hampshire.ย Whether you spell it barbeque or BBQ, grilling over an open hearth has become an all-time American favorite pastime.
โThereโs just something about cooking over an open fire that brings people together and sets the mood for fun,โ states David Moulton, General Manager of the Wineโing Butcher.
The BBQ recipe search is open to all amateur and home cooks who can easily submit their recipe online at www.WineingButcherNH.com/bbq.ย Recipes can be submitted fromย May 1 -31. Wineโing Butcher chefs and well-known NH Chef and owner of Canoe and O Steaks and Seafood, Scott Ouellette will judge the recipes to determine a 1st place winner and 2 runners-up with prizes valued over $750.
But, more important than the prizes will be the opportunity for the winner to have their recipe featured in Chef Ouelletteโs premier restaurants. The recipes that are gathered from the contest will be featured on WineingButcherNH.com.ย Each recipe entered will receive a $5 off Wineโing Butcher coupon that can be printed out and used at any of the four NH Wineโing Butcher locations.
The formal definition of barbecue is a method and apparatus for cooking food, often meat, with the heat and hot gases of a fire, smoking wood or hot coals of charcoal and may include applications of a marinade, spice rub, or basting sauce to the meat. Barbecue is a unique way of cooking and can differ depending on the culture, ingredients, method and etc. Moulton continues, โWe canโt wait to see the recipes that come in and plan to have lots of fun trying and sharing them with NH!โ
The Wineโing Butcher Gourmet Market has four locations in New Hampshire: Bedford, Pembroke, Meredith and Gilford.ย Click here to enter.
