MANCHESTER, NH — A Winter Weather Advisory in effect from 7 p.m. Feb. 23 to 7 a.m. Feb. 24, with “ice pellets” in the forecast, according to the Weather Underground.
The National Weather Service in Gray, Maine, has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for mixed precipitation. Good news: School vacation week means you don’t have to get up early to check for a delay. However, the bad news is that travel advisories have been issued for those of us not on vacation.
Expect snow, sleet and freezing rain, with accumulations expected from a coating up to 2 inches of snow, followed by less than a tenth of an inch of ice.
Snow will continue overnight and eventually change to sleet and freezing rain late Tuesday or early Wednesday morning. A change to plain rain is expected Wednesday morning, and in some places, late Tuesday.
Local travel will be hazardous. Temperatures in the lower 30s, rising well into the 30s Wednesday and Wednesday night, and then into the 50s Thursday.
