
MANCHESTER, NH โ A woman has died after she was struck by a vehicle on Interstate 93, while in the breakdown lane, NH State Police said.
Just after noon on March 26, 2026, the New Hampshire State Police Communications Unit received reports that a woman was outside a stopped vehicle in the right breakdown lane on I-93 northbound in Manchester, just north of the I-293 split. While Troopers responded to the area, they learned the woman had been struck by a commercial vehicle.
The woman who was struck was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her name is being withheld pending the ongoing investigation. The driver of the vehicle involved remained at the scene and is cooperating. Troopers did not detect any sign of criminal conduct by the involved driver.
During the investigation, all lanes of I-93 northbound were closed near Exit 6, and traffic was diverted to I-293. Troop B was assisted by additional Troopers from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction (C.A.R.) Unit and Troop G, as well as members of the Manchester Fire Department and the New Hampshire Department of Transportation.
