Sobriety Checkpoints June 20-21 in Manchester

Screen shot 2014-06-20 at 5.05.35 PMManchester police will be conducting sobriety checkpoints June 20-21 in an effort to reduce the number of people driving under the influence.

According to a recent MPD press release, the checkpoints are the result of what police say are an increase in incidents of motorists drinking andย and driving. Police applied for and received a grant from theย Superior Court to conduct the checkpoints.

The program, approved by the NH Highway Safety Agency and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, provides federal highway safety funds to support these checkpoints which will be conducted in Manchester.

So if you’re out and about tonight, make sure you have a designated driver, or don’t get behind the wheel if you have more to drink than you should.

Not sure how much that is? Here’s a handy chart from drivinglaws.org.
