MANCHESTER, NH – No injuries were reported in a fire Thursday night on Hevey Street that originated in the first-floor kitchen.
Crews were dispatched for a possible building fire at 8:40 p.m. First on scene was Engine 6 from the Amory Street fire station just a few blocks away and the officer reported smoke coming from the building.
Shortly after arrival, fire began venting out one of the first floor windows and extending up to the second floor and into the roofline. There were reports of trapped occupants so crews began an aggressive interior attack on the fire while performing searches on all floors.
No victims were found and an all clear of the building was declared. Fire was extinguished with most of the fire damage limited to the first floor apartment.
