MANCHESTER, NH โ Catholic Medical Center (CMC) is expanding its support for New Hampshire families by opening its annual Food and Nutrition Drive to the public, responding to the growing need caused by reduced SNAP benefits following the government shutdown.
Originally launched as an internal campaign for CMC staff, the drive has now become a community-wide call to action, benefiting the New Hampshire Food Bank, a program of Catholic Charities NH. From now until November 15, individuals across the region are invited to donate shelf-stable, nutritious food items to help families facing food insecurity.
Donation boxes are available at the following locations:
- CMC Main Lobby โ 100 McGregor Street, Manchester, NH 03102
- CMC Breast Care Center โ 9 Washington Pl Ste 203, Bedford, NH 03110
- Outpatient Rehab at Dartmouth Commons โ 9 Washington Pl Ste 203, Bedford, NH 03110
- CMC Sleep Center โ 2280 Brown Ave, Manchester, NH 03103
Requested items include: canned fruits and vegetables, beans, tuna, nut butters, whole grains, soups, and spices.
โIn light of the SNAP reductions, weโve placed a public donation box in our main lobby to make it easy for community members to contribute,โ said Lindsay Kaled, NH Market Director, Marketing & Community Engagement. โThis is about more than foodโitโs about health, dignity and solidarity.โ
This initiative is part of CMCโs broader commitment to addressing the social determinants of health. Earlier this fall, CMC awarded $25,000 to Catholic Charities NH to support food access and family safety education, reinforcing its dedication to community well-being.
