‘No Parade Party’: A different kind of St. Patrick’s celebration

MANCHESTER, NH –  Word is out that the Manchester St. Patrick’s Parade will not be taking place this year  due to the parade committee’s concern for participant safety and logistical issues  involved with staging and the new parade route put forth by the city.

The volunteer parade committee is aware that the parade brought an incredible amount  of business to many restaurants and bars in downtown Manchester. The committee  has organized a different type of celebration for those wishing to celebrate. In an effort  to support some of the parade’s long time sponsors – The Wild Rover Pub and  Restaurant, The Shaskeen Pub and Restaurant and Strange Brew Tavern, it has been  arranged for the McGonagle School of Irish Dance and the New Hampshire Police  Association Pipe and Drum Band to perform on Sunday, March 29 at the following times  and locations

McGonagle School of Irish Dance

  • 1 p.m. – The Wild Rover- McGonagle School of Irish Dance
  • 2 p.m. – Shaskeen- McGonagle School of Irish Dance
  • 3 p.m. – Strange Brew- McGonagle School of Irish Dance

The New Hampshire Police Association Pipe and Drum Band

  • 2 p.m.- The Wild Rover- New Hampshire Police Association Pipe and Drums
  • 3 p.m. – Shaskeen- New Hampshire Police Association Pipe and Drums
  • 4 p.m.- Strange Brew- New Hampshire Police Association Pipe and Drums

We hope that many of the parade’s spectators will still head down town to celebrate,  take in some good, family-friendly entertainment and grab a bite to eat to support the  downtown businesses.
