MANCHESTER, NH – Another incident involving a youth having a medical emergency related to an overdose at Granite Pathways youth addiction recovery center was reported Wednesday.
At 12:05 p.m. first-responders were dispatched to Granite Pathways on River Road for a juvenile who had overdosed. While en route to the call, the responders were updated that the juvenile had ingested hand sanitizer.
The parent of the juvenile has confirmed that her child was transported to the Elliot Hospital after poison control directed the Granite Pathways to take that action. The parent was advised by the state Department of Health and Human Services that her child was to be moved to a treatment center in Vermont. The juvenile is expected to recover.
Granite Pathways was the location of multiple juveniles suffering from overdose symptoms last week. The state of NH has terminated the contract for Granite Pathways to manage the facility. A spokesman for the state Department of Health and Human Services said all other youth clients have been moved from the River Road treatment center.
