AMR medics responded to a total of 70 suspected opioid ODs in Nashua and Manchester during March 2024; 50 in Manchester and 20 in Nashua; 10 of those calls were suspected opioid OD deaths: 6 were in Manchester and 4 were in Nashua.

Opioid-related fatalities dropped significantly in Manchester last year which is highly encouraging.  After two years of significant increases in the number of suspected opioid overdoses in Manchester, the 2023 number was essentially unchanged from the previous year.

In Manchester, suspected opioid ODs are trending 5% higher than last year on an annual basis. Total suspected fatal opioid ODs in Manchester are trending 19% lower than last year. 9% of the suspected opioid ODs AMR medics have responded to in Manchester have been fatal.

There were 18 suspected opioid deaths in Nashua and Manchester in February. That is the most suspected opioid deaths in a one-month period for Nashua and Manchester combined since tracking began in 2015. There were 13 suspected opioid OD deaths in Manchester and 5 in Nashua during February. Almost all of those deaths remain in a pending toxicology status but are highly suspected to involve opioids.
