Below are February and YTD summaries of suspected opioid OD statistics & Safe Station visits for Nashua and Manchester through March 8, 2019.
The total combined opioid ODs for February 2019 in the state’s two largest cities of Nashua and Manchester were 71 with 5 of those being fatalities and 2 additional fatalities pending toxicology confirmation.
Notable statistics:
- The public in Nashua has now administered more Narcan® in 2019 than AMR & NFR combined.
- A fatality in Nashua that happened in January was verified through toxicology to have been opioid-related. That negates the streak in a break in fatalities that was thought to have occurred in January.
- Manchester opioid OD deaths are down 17 percent in the last 365-days.
- Nashua opioid OD deaths are down 12 percent in the last 365-days.
MANCHESTER
- For the month of February 2019, there were 49 opioid ODs.
- For the month of February 2019, there were 3 confirmed opioid deaths and 0 additional deaths pending toxicology confirmation.
- 2019 YTD there have been 115 opioid ODs in Manchester.
- 2019 YTD there have been 11 opioid-related deaths in Manchester and 0 additional deaths pending toxicology confirmation.
- Through March 7, 2019, the Manchester Safe Station program has been used as an access point 5,221 times since it began on May 4, 2016.
NASHUA
- For the month of February 2019, there were 22 opioid ODs.
- For the month of February 2019, there were 2 confirmed opioid deaths and 2 deaths pending toxicology confirmation.
- 2019 YTD there have been 47 opioid ODs in Nashua.
- 2019 YTD there have been 4 opioid related deaths in Nashua and 2 deaths pending toxicology confirmation.
- The Nashua Safe Station program has been used as an access point 2,747 times since it began on Nov 17, 2016.
