Last month Eric Brakey told Liberty Fest goers that our state is Galt’s Gulch, the libertarian utopia. It’s where their heroes go when the American people refuse to let wealthy capitalists run the U.S.
Project 2025 would: 1) deploy the military against Americans inside the US; 2) wrest fiscal control from Congress to the President; and 3) replace up to 50,000 civil servants with political supporters. Heritage has already recruited hundreds at the Iowa State Fair.
Currently, the state offers parents $3700+ for the simple act of completing an EFA registration form. Not surprisingly, thousands of private-school parents registered. Then, these parents could submit the tuition bills that they previously paid themselves to a scholarship organization. The scholarship organization pays the bills with taxpayer moneys. The state is not permitted oversight on how the money is used.
It’s budget season at the State House as well as in towns. And the folks at the State House are jubilant that their budget is overflowing with federal monies. Local towns? Not so much.
We could cut the statewide property tax – a tax no voter ever raised their paddle for – by half. We could reinstate stabilization grant funding. And more. It can happen if enough people just show up.
