The Manchester Health Department notified the Manchester School District that it has identified clusters of COVID-19 cases in city schools for the first time. A cluster is defined as three or more cases in the same classroom or group during the same timeframe.
Voting on Nov. 3 is still a go despite flooding to parts of the first and second floors.

There have now been 7,652 cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in New Hampshire.
School begins Wednesday, Sept. 9. The first day will be a remote day for all. Sept. 10 is the first day that students will return to school buildings. Students in Kindergarten and first grade can begin with the hybrid option if families choose it, while students in second through 12th grades will begin the year fully remote.

In addition, Wilson School Principal Chris MacDonald has been named principal at Hallsville Elementary, his previous position. Prior to his time at Wilson and Hallsville, MacDonald served as an assistant principal at Northwest Elementary. The school district will begin a search to fill the principal vacancy at Wilson School.
Dr. Goldhardt’s proposal calls for all students in grades 2 through 12 to begin the year fully remote through the end of the first term, but we would re-evaluate the situation on Oct. 9.

On Monday evening, the Manchester Board of School Committee approved the hiring of Shaun St. Onge as the new principal at Manchester Memorial High School. Longtime Memorial Principal Arthur Adamakos retired Tuesday, June 30, after more than 40 years in Manchester School District.
