s the end of the school year approaches, we continue to work to develop procedures and plans to clean out schools and plan for milestone events. We appreciate your patience and understanding in this time – our primary goal is to ensure the health of our entire school community. We have a lot of updates for you this week, so let’s get right to them:
The following are updates from the Manchester School District released on May 11, 2020.
We’re into the final stretch of a very unusual school year. This week is Teacher Appreciation Week – and it is especially important this year. But we also wanted to make sure that parents and guardians know how appreciated you are, too. Remote learning is a new challenge and it can be frustrating – we are proud of your effort.
During vacation, we strongly urge you to continue social distancing. This is not the time to gather in groups or ease up on other precautions. As a reminder, parks are open but playgrounds and hard courts (basketball and tennis, for example) remain closed in the city.
Updates from the Manchester School District for April 22, 2020
School district news and information to keep you updated.
We’ve reached the end of another week of remote learning. We are so proud of all that our staff, students and families have done. These are difficult times, and you have risen to the challenge. Be proud of that. We hope you are able to get some rest this weekend.
Based on orders issued Thursday by Gov. Chris Sununu, NH schools will be closed through at least May 4 as part of a state-wide stay-at-home order. That order closes all non-essential businesses and calls for all to stay home unless absolutely necessary.
The District is utilizing our busses to make deliveries along bus routes. All Manchester School District students can access food by meeting the bus at their regular stop, or the stop nearest their home if they are not a bus rider.
Information will be updated as new developments take shape, according to the district.
Manchester School District Superintendent Dr. John Goldhardt and Manchester Education Association President Sue Ellen Hannan announced in a joint statement Thursday that the parties have reached a tentative agreement on a successor contract for teachers in Manchester.
Congratulations to Central’s hard-working students.
