After several months of reviewing options and exploring possible sites for a new West Side Manchester community center, the Board of Directors of the Mark Stebbins Community Center (MSCC) and the Board of Commissioners for the Manchester Housing and Redevelopment Authority (MHRA) announced on Thursday the two entities have signed a 75-year lease to build and operate a new facility for local children and residents at Kelley Falls.

The U.S. Department of Education has announced an additional round of federal GEAR UP grant funding aimed at boosting opportunities for Manchester students, to ensure they have the same opportunities and benefits as their peers. The new funds – totaling nearly $4.8 million across 7 years – follow a successful first round of aid targeting career and college readiness programs for those who need it most.
