The 23rd Annual Celebration for Mental Health benefit on October 24, hosted by The Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester (MHCGM), raised over $100,000 through live and silent auctions, raffles, and event sponsorships. The net profit represents a new record high amount for the benefit event and will go a long way in helping children, teens, and adults within the greater Manchester community, to access treatments, services, and programs offered at MHCGM. More than 50 different community partners, businesses, and organizations supported the benefit cause to help improve the quality of life of others who are affected by mental illness.

Following her emotionally gripping performance of Mary and Me at The Players’ Ring at the beginning of 2020, local actress and producer Emily Karel is once again teaming up with acclaimed playwright Irene Kelleher to present the U.S. premiere of “A Safe Passage,” produced by Glass Dove Productions. A Safe Passage is running from November 4th-13th at The Players’ Ring in Portsmouth, NH.

The Derryfield School announced on October 25 that five students have been recognized by the 2023 National Merit Scholarship Program for their scholastic talents. Seniors Jaisen Soundar, Jack Schroeder, and Zachary Rabold are presently semifinalists and Artem Yurovskiy and Benjamin Roy were named Commended students.

Early Sunday morning October 23, students and parents of The Founders Academy Public Charter School went to the Manchester-Boston Regional Airport to wish 25 veterans well as they traveled with Honor Flight New England to the nation’s capital to visit the memorials. Students held flags and homemade signs and greeted these heroes with handshakes and hugs.
